MGOS and MWLS, now united at MERIDIAN. Clinical excellence, multidisciplinary care, and a connected patient experience.MGOS and MWLS now united at MERIDIAN
The practice

One team. Consistent expertise, from first visit onward.

Meridian is a Melbourne-based practice focused on upper gastrointestinal, bariatric and metabolic health.

Care is delivered through an integrated team of surgeons, physicians and allied health clinicians, with structured follow-up.

The practice

Upper GI surgery, metabolic bariatric surgery and metabolic medicine, integrated by design.

Meridian Health brings together FRACS-accredited upper GI and bariatric surgeons, a physician-led metabolic medicine team, and a full allied health programme under one roof at Brenan Place, Fitzroy.

A single clinical record connects every member of the team. Surgeons, physicians, dietitians and the psychologist share notes and coordinate care so that each appointment builds on the last, rather than starting over.

Experienced multidisciplinary team

FRACS-accredited Upper GI and Bariatric surgeons working alongside a physician-led metabolic team, dietitians and psychologists. The practice maintains adjunct and honorary academic appointments with the University of Melbourne and Monash University.

Contemporary evidence-based care

Current laparoscopic and endoscopic techniques. Medical therapies, including GLP-1 treatment where clinically appropriate. Ongoing involvement in surgical and metabolic research, education and quality improvement.

Coordinated patient care

A single clinical record across the practice. Assessment, treatment and follow-up managed within one multidisciplinary structure, with clinical review occurring at the time decisions are made.

Considered practice environment

Private consulting suites, calm interiors and time for unhurried consultation. The patient experience has been designed to support comfort, clarity and confidence throughout care.

Continuity throughout treatment

Patients meet their treating surgeon early and continue care with a familiar clinical team across surgery and follow-up wherever possible. Care remains coordinated within the practice rather than across disconnected providers.

Care between appointments

The Meridian patient app extends support beyond the consulting room with education, recovery guidance, progress tracking and structured follow-up tools reviewed by the clinical team.
